KidCademy Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
1. Introduction
KidCademy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of every child who uses our online learning services.
We believe that all children have the right to learn in a safe, supportive and respectful environment — free from harm, neglect, bullying or discrimination.
This policy outlines the procedures, expectations and responsibilities that ensure children remain safe while attending KidCademy’s online classes.
2. Our Commitment
KidCademy ensures that:
Children are safe during all online lessons
Teachers maintain professional boundaries at all times
Any safeguarding concerns are recorded and acted upon
All communication is transparent and appropriate
Parents and teachers work together to protect children
Lessons follow UK safeguarding standards adapted for GCC context
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility — staff, parents and children.
3. Scope of the Policy
This policy applies to:
All KidCademy teachers and staff
All children attending lessons
All parents/guardians
Any third-party support partners
It covers all areas of online learning including:
Live lessons
Homework submission
WhatsApp communication with parents
Recorded lessons (where applicable)
4. Safeguarding Responsibilities
4.1 KidCademy Teachers Must:
Maintain a safe, respectful online classroom
Report any safeguarding concern immediately to the Safeguarding Lead
Keep communication with families professional and appropriate
Ensure cameras are ON for safety and engagement
Use only KidCademy-approved platforms for communication
Not contact children privately for any reason
Follow KidCademy behaviour, attendance and reporting protocols
Complete safeguarding training as required
4.2 Parents/Guardians Must:
Ensure their child is supervised appropriately
Ensure the learning environment is safe and appropriate
Have their child’s camera switched ON during lessons
Avoid recording lessons without consent
Avoid engaging in conversations with the teacher during live lessons
Report any concerns directly to KidCademy
4.3 Children Must:
Behave respectfully towards teachers and other students
Keep their camera ON
Avoid sharing personal information
Tell a parent or teacher if something feels uncomfortable or unsafe
5. Online Safety Requirements
To protect children during online lessons:
5.1 Cameras
Children’s cameras must stay ON throughout the lesson unless previously agreed with the teacher.
5.2 Environment
Children should join lessons from:
A quiet, safe space
A shared family area where appropriate
A space without inappropriate background activity
5.3 Screen-Sharing & Chats
Teachers may share their screen for teaching purposes.
Children must not:
Share screens without permission
Send inappropriate messages in the chat
Share personal details (address, number, school etc.)
5.4 Recording Lessons
Recordings (if enabled) are used only for safeguarding and revision.
They are stored securely and not shared publicly.
6. Communication
All communication is directed to parents only, never to children.
WhatsApp communication is strictly limited to academic updates, scheduling and parent queries.
No teacher will have private communications with a child offline.
7. Responding
toSafeguarding Concerns
KidCademy takes any safeguarding concern seriously.
If a teacher notices:
Concerning behaviour
Visible distress
Signs of harm, abuse or neglect
Inappropriate interactions
Unsafe background environment
Concerning information shared by the child
They must:
Record the concern
Report immediately to KidCademy’s Safeguarding Lead
Follow further instructions as required
Parents will be contacted if appropriate.
If a child is at immediate risk, KidCademy may contact appropriate authorities in the child’s country of residence.
8. Code of Conduct for Teachers
KidCademy teachers agree to:
Always act in a professional manner
Never share personal contact details
Never accept inappropriate behaviour
Maintain clear teacher–student boundaries
Use positive behaviour management
Never engage in one-to-one private video calls without parental knowledge
Not discuss adult issues or personal life with children
Teachers must show:
Respect
Patience
Kindness
Professionalism
9. Use of Technology
To keep children safe:
Only approved platforms (Zoom) are used
Class links must not be shared publicly
Teachers use waiting rooms to admit students
Files and resources shared are child-appropriate
Parents must supervise young children (Reception–Year 1) when needed
10. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if:
New legislation is introduced
Online safety guidelines change
Concerns arise requiring policy updates
